Betty has been in foster care for 6 months now. She is two
and a half years old, and weighs about 12 lbs. She just
loves to cuddle; in fact, she wants to lay right on you!
She does this cute smile when she kisses. She will not let
anyone touch her but me, and will bond very closely with
her new owner. She will take food from others but is very
frightened of strangers. If someone comes to the door, she
gets worried and makes a whining sound. She just loves the
other dogs and is always kissing them and doing play bows.
My little 4 1/2 lb Chi will chase her through the house
when playing. Betty gets scared and jumps up on me like
this little dog is going to get her.
She always comes when called. She just started playing
with toys; in fact, she will stack them up in her favorite
spot. Doesn't like the squeaker ones though.
Betty will still leave the room if she sees a camera or
you pick up little things like a bottle of lotion. I'm
sure in time with the right person to love her, she will
become less fearful once she develops more confidence and
feels secure . She has learned that squirrels are
fun to chase and she loves laying on the chaise in the
sun.
Betty needs a quiet household with older adults who are
experienced with Chihuahuas and are willing to give her
the time she needs. She cannot be adopted out to anyone
with children or who has children visit and play. She also
needs another Chihuahua companion; she would not do well
as an only dog and relates very well to other dogs. She is
an affectionate, loving little girl but needs time to
adjust and trust her new owners. She must have a fenced
yard. You cannot depend on leash walking for housebreaking
with her.
If you have a home and love to offer Betty, please
complete an adoption application and then email MidwestCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com
to let her know you want Betty. You must live in
