Put A Little Love In Your Life - Adopt A Chihuahua

PACO
© My best friend is Gail Swenson

Hi! My name is Paco. I'm not a "cute" dog; I am a very handsome, distinguished, gentleman. My foster mom thought about trading in her husband for me, but I convinced her not to. I told her, "he does earn his keep after all, you know." He keeps my water bowl full, takes me outside to potty when she's not home, and gives me an occasional treat. So she said, "Okay, I guess that means we have to put you on the website." So here I am, handsome and available at 3 years old, and weighing 7 lbs.

I am a really good boy and love my humans. I would be great as an only dog without children. See, I really do like kids. I have a 10 year old human foster brother – or is he an alien? I'm not sure…. Anyway, he's really nice and we get along well. However, he knows how to respect my boundaries. He says I'm a "nutjob," but that's just because he doesn't want anyone to adopt me. I just happen to be very energetic. My signature move is jumping from the floor, over the coffee table, to "just the right spot" on the couch. You should see me fly! I love to hang out on the couch with my foster family. I'm okay with my foster brother and sisters (yes, there are three other Chihuahuas in this home, can you believe it!) They were the ones that had to adjust to my energetic ways.

I am a really nice dog. I bark when someone new comes around, but doesn't every dog? Okay, some don't – but I'm just trying to warn my humans that someone new is around and at the door. Here is an example of what a good boy I am: My foster mom took me into the vet to get ummmm neutered…I'm not sure about saying that in public….Well, when I went back for the removal of my stitches, my foster mom held me on my back, the vet cut them and pulled them out and all I did was give a tiny yelp, just to say, "Ouch, that hurt!" I did not even try to bite the vet or my foster mom. I would say that's pretty darn cooperative. I also learn really fast. I was not trained with the potty thing at all when I first got here – and I really liked to mark. I still have to wear that belly band at times, but I don't wet it anymore. I am really good at going potty outside and I've never gone #2 in the house. When it's really cold, I just step right outside by the door. Can you believe I have only been here for about a month so far! So if you do adopt me, just watch where you step as you leave the house on those cold days.

If you have room for me at your house and want someone who'll love you forever and keep you laughing the whole time, then here I am! Please complete an adoption application and then email Laura at MidwestCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com   to let her know you want me. You must live in OH/IN/KY/IL/MN/MI/WI(lvs)
