Put A Little Love In Your Life - Adopt A Chihuahua

SADIE

I'm Sadie, a ten-yo girl weighing about 5 lbs. I'm the oldest, and the most active one in this house! I run out in the yard, and when my foster mom calls me, I run as fast as I can right up the steps to the deck, and across the deck, and I shoot right through the door!  I don't play with toys and things, I just run fast and am very alert. I'm your typical older girl -- well house broken, very well behaved, grateful for whatever I get, and I get along with everybody here. Now -- here's my secret: I have a grade 5 heart murmur and I'm on enalapril once a day. Don't click on to the next dog -- hear me out!   I managed to get spayed and have major dental work done when I came here, even with that heart murmut. I have about 14 tiny mammary tumors, too, and we had two of them biopsied and they were benign, so the vet didn't feel it was in my best interests to remove all those. That would have been *really* major surgery! They aren't growing, either -- they're just the exact same size that they were when I got here.

I'd sure like someone who loves only me for my remaining years, but if not, I could use some Best Friends. I already have one who sent me a Save-A-Chi donation and I love her forever!

I do have one bad habit, though. My former owner seems to have thought it was cute for me to bite people, so when strangers come in our house, I make nice with them and wag my tail and hop around for attention, and as soon as they turn their backs on me, I turn into a heat-seeking missile and ibte them right in the foot/anke. Hard. Then I wag my tail and jump around some more for more attention, but for some reason, I don't get the kind of attention I wanted. Sigh. You never know what to expect with *people.* Give me another dog anytime.

I like to sleep with the other dogs but they aren't crazy about me sleeping with them, so I wait until they're sound asleep and then I sneak quietly up into their dog beds. You should see their surprise when they wake up and there I am!  Lots of growling and snarling! Most of these guys are grumpy old things.

You know what would be the most fun in the world? If I could go places with a new mom! As long as no one stuck their hands in my face, I'd be just fine, and I'd love to see new things and keep my person company.

Who knows how much time any of us have left? Maybe I have five years -- you never know. Maybe not. but in any case, every minute I spend with you will be a minute full of love. I can guarantee that.
