Put A Little Love In Your Life - Adopt A Chihuahua

ZOEY

Hello,

My name is Zoey, I weigh about 6 lbs and I am four years old.  I am the cutest little girl ever.  I am a long coat Chihuahua with black fur and a little bit of white and brown on my face.  My paws and legs are also white.  I have only been with my foster mom, but I fit right in from the first day.  I am very friendly and easy to get along with.  My Chihuahua foster brother and sisters would agree (I have three Chihuahua foster brothers and sisters!).  I love to explore and check out every part of the house or the yard.  My foster mom was surprised about what a good girl I am.  She has had some foster doggies that needed a lot of training, but not me!  I already know how to sit, get down, and I was also trying to show my foster mom that I also know how to roll over, but she just can’t figure out what command I need to hear.  She accidentally moved her hand a certain way, and I just rolled over for a treat.  I guess I need to train my foster mom some more because she can’t figure out how to do that again.  Every time she tries something else with her hand, I think she is asking me to “sit.”  I also go in my crate when my foster mom tells me to get in there.  I sleep in my crate at night, but would also love to sleep with you if you let me.  Sometimes my foster mom lets me sneak into bed with her for a little while and I LOVE it!  I am a very well-rounded Chihuahua, you know.  I also know about traveling in a car and don’t get nervous at all.  I know just what to do and love the excitement of a road trip!  I’m very good at jumping as well, so you have to have a high fence or gate if you want to keep me in a certain room or area.  I love to be groomed and have no problem when my foster mom brushes or trims my coat.

I was originally a breeding Chihuahua and I had two litters of pups.  I guess they thought I wouldn’t make a good breeding Chihuahua anymore, so they “retired” me and sold me to someone who wanted a Chihuahua as a pet.  I was very confused in this house and I had a lot of accidents.  However, now that I have been with my foster mom, she lets me out when I need to go and when she’s not home, she leaves puppy pads for me to use.  So, here, I don’t seem to get confused and know just where to go potty.  I prefer to go potty outside, so I would love to live with someone that was home a lot and could let me out for potty during the day.  It’s probably not a good idea to adopt me if you have carpets.  My foster mom thinks that I might have been confused at my other home by having carpets in the house.  I am a very well-trained dog and I love everyone I meet.  I am also a good eater – I’m not picky at all and eat my dry dog food with no problem.

I’m really tired of going from one place to another and really want a forever home where I can live out the rest of my years.  I’m only four years old and am living in my third home!  I will be your very best friend and cuddle with you on the couch and go on walks with you.  Believe me, it will be love at first sight!  So if you are looking for a beautiful, long coat female Chihuahua who already knows a few tricks and is very friendly, I am your girl.  Well, that’s all I will say for now.

Remember, I will need a securely fenced yard, no big dogs, no children, and would prefer to have another dog my size around the house and someone who is home a lot or can check on me during the day. I wouldn't be happy staying alone all day by myself. Please complete an adoption application on our website, and then email MidwestCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com to let her know you want me.

Note:  Zoey is a healthy, active girl currently.  However, she was diagnosed with a “Functional Murmur, Grade I-II/VI.”  I will be taking her to the vet soon to get more specific information about her condition.

You must live in OH/IN/KY/IL/MN/MI/WI.(lvs)
