Put A Little Love In Your Life - Adopt A
Chihuahua
This is a special needs dog. Special needs dogs are those dogs that have
medical, physical,
or other attributes that require special care or environment. They are not
available
for adoption at this time, but would welcome "best friends" to help with their
care.

Dear little Cricket was rescued from an animal shelter where she was an unclaimed stray. She is an older girl, thought to be about 16 now. She is small at 6 pounds.
Cricket had cataract surgery several years ago but has since developed a cataract in her "good" eye. We have elected not to have further surgery, given her age and the fact that while the surgery itself was a breeze, the preparation and aftercare were very hard on her - drops several times a day for which she would have to be hauled out from under the bed where she was hiding. She sees quite well out of the eye that had surgery.
Cricket has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and takes several medications. She also has arthritis and some neurological problems that make walking difficult. She is on medication for this too.
Cricket gets along fine with the other dogs in her foster home, but does not put up with any "stuff" from them. She is OK with the cat. Cricket just hangs out....she has a pillow and a snuggle sack in her foster mom's bed and seems happy just to stay there most of the time. She always shows up at meal time and fusses at her foster mom until she gets fed.
