CRT rescued Pixie from an Animal Control facility in a nick of time. She came in as a stray, crippled, blind and injured. No one ever came calling, looking for her, which is
probably a good thing. She went straight to the vet and was there for a very lengthy time.
The vet wasn’t sure this little senior would survive, so she took
Pixie home with her every evening to nurse her back to health. Pixie is totally blind due to cataracts, and has luxating
patellas in both knees that are not repairable at her age. There
are scars on her little body, either from abuse or injury. Whatever this 4 lb. little old lady’s past is, she is a
loving, trusting little soul. She tries to
follow me about the house and has learned her way quite well. She sleeps with us at night and wants nothing more than to
be snuggly tucked in, knowing she’s safe and secure. No more scary monsters in a dark scary world for this
sweetheart. Due to her age and disabilities,
we feel Pixie should remain in permanent foster care here. But, she could really use some Best Friends to help with
her medical expenses. The Best Friends Program
really helps CRT help little dogs like Pixie.
Sick, injured, old or imperfect, the ones no one else wants. Except CRT.
