Hi, my name is Chico and I am quite a
handsome guy. I have long legs with an apple head and big brown eyes. I
have been told that my color is different – you just do not see many
grey Chihuahuas – that means I’m kind of unusual. Most people think
I look old but once you see me in person , you will be amazed at how
handsome I am and very young looking because I am young! I have even
learned a trick called dancing and only energetic young dogs can dance
you know!
I have learned a lot since I came to live with my foster brothers and
sisters. I have been walking with the dogs my age ( 4 years by the way)
on a leash and although I get scared sometimes, I am able to follow my
pack leader – my foster mom - and she calms me down. I do bark
at other bigger dogs, I just like to tell them that I am the boss. I am
excellent about going to the bathroom outside in the backyard and when
we walk on the leash. I am most excited about learning how to play and
share with others. I like my stuffed toys and will do a whole ½ mile
walk with them.
I love to sit on my foster mom’s lap. I also like to sit on her
shoulder of roll owner and get my belly rubbed. I like to lay
under covers at night or cuddled with my toys in my bed. Once I get to
know you I am very loyal and very loving and affectionate.
I do not always like to share and will get in ‘tiffs’ with other
dogs from time to time. Of course I am corrected and I try to be
better. I would like to have a forever home that may have another
small dog to hang with or a cat – I do like cats – they are
funny and I like to just watch them. I really will not do well with
human kids. They really scare me.
I am pretty healthy – that‘s what the big guy in blue told me. I do
have a grade one heart murmur but I heard him tell my foster mom that I
take pills – two very inexpensive pills - and that if I watch my
weight and do exercise that I should be just fine – just monitoring
from year to year. I can live a good long time! I did not know that this
is common with small guys like me.
I am neutered, of course, and up to date on all of my
vaccinations. I have been with my foster family for so long that I have
forgotten that there may be my forever out there. I promise I will
be a good companion to a loving and patient person or persons if you
give me a wonderful forever home. Please be my forever dance partner!
