MISSY |
|
 |
 |
|
Missy is approximately one year old, spayed, up-to-date on
her vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and
micro-chipped. She is white with a black mask, a large
black spot on her back and a black spot at the base of her
tail. She is animated, sweet natured, and gets along well
with other foster dogs even my 50 pound Shepherd mix. She
has a delightful behavior of cocking her head quizzically
when I am speaking to her. When she is excited, Missy
spins clockwise in tight circles and we thought at first
of naming her Whirling Dervish.
She was rescued off the side of the road in the rain
east of Buda in late February. She is learning basic
obedience and now knows learned sit, stay, quiet, and go
kennel. She is crate trained and walks on leash. She has
shown an interest in retrieving a small ball and/or disc
when thrown for her. She treats my cats like small dogs
and they simply avoid her. My children are all grown so I
do not know how she will do with children. As with most
small dogs, she loves sitting in laps and being carried.
Missy is a little gem. She is ready for a forever home
that will cherish this little dog, treating her with love
and affection.
For more information about Missy, or if you are interested
in adopting her, please contact Barbara at

TATE |
|
 |
|
TATE (or as we like to call her, TATER-TOT) is a 2 year
old black female. She still needs a little help with potty
training - not quite 100% there yet. She would do best in
a home with a lot of attention and people to play with,
preferably a home with someone there during the day. She
is good with children, cats, and other small dogs. She is
approximately 8 pounds and a cuddle monster. Tater-Tot has
tons of energy and a sweet temperament. She is also
micro-chipped. I have all her papers and can provide her
vet records.

BOBBY AND BARKER |
|
 |
 |
BOBBY & BARKER...
are 2 brothers about 10 yrs old. They are Chihuahua mixes,
maybe with some Dachshund. They are sweet dogs and like to
be held. They still run around and act like young pups.
They were rescued from a bad hoarder situation in
November. There were 13 dogs and 33 cats, mostly
unaltered, all living in the house. Feral Friends has had
them neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. They are
amazingly heartworm negative and now on preventative.
It appears to me that Barker maybe had his jaw broken at
some time, because his tongue is always hanging out the
side of his mouth. Barker also has very few teeth and the
ones he does have probably need to be pulled. Bobby needs
some dental work done also, so they both are on a soft
food diet.
They get upset when they are separated because they have
been together their whole life, but they also fight over
food, so they need to be separated while eating.
Because of the environment they grew up in and not being
neutered until they were 10 yrs old, they are not
housebroken. They will need an owner who is willing to use
bellybands (doggie diapers) or provide them with secure,
weather protected outside quarters.
Bobby & Barker are located in the Dallas, TX area. If you
can give these poor old guys a good home, contact Rhonda
through Feral Friends at
www.feralfriends.org. |

YOSHI |
|
 |
 |
AGE: Approx. 14 Weeks
WEIGHT: 8 lbs & growing
BREED: Terrier Mix
MEDICAL: Spayed, Vaccinated, on Heartworm Preventative,
Microchipped
TEMPERAMENT: SWEET & SMART: Very loving with all dogs/cats
and people
GOOD TRAITS : Housebroken, quiet, rides well in the car,
leash trained and very intelligent
Yoshi is a beautiful, intelligent, fun loving little girl.
Her white markings are really flashy. This one is special.
Her story starts on a cold rainy night in January when a
young man in a car found her in the middle of the road
soaking wet and freezing. He took her home for a week.
Then he moved and left her behind. What? Yes that’s right.
Left her behind. The neighbors heard her whining to get
back in to her home and realized she had been abandoned.
She was brought to the clinic the next day as they could
not keep her. She was fine and healthy. She did have two
inguinal hernias which can be hereditary, but they were
repaired when she was spayed and should not be an issue.
She is completely vaccinated, microchipped and on
heartworm preventative. She is already housebroken with
only the occasionally rare, puppy accident.
She would prefer a home with lots of love, maybe a puppy
playmate, and
attention. If you think you are the match for this little
girl please submit an application. We believe she is
8 to 14 weeks old.Available for adoption in the Dallas
area. Email:

CHARLIE |
|
 |
Charlie was an owner surrender at a vet clinic in Lake
Mary, Florida. Lucky for him, the vet tech took him home
and is fostering him until he gets a new home.
Charlie is a young male (neutered) 9 lb Chihuahua with a
little underbite. He is current on shots and appears to be
housebroken. He is good with other small dogs and cats but
NOT small children! Anybody interested in him will just
need to be patient for him because he has had several
homes before i got him and it seems no one gave him very
much love. He is potty trained and just needs some work on
other behavioral things like excessive barking and the
occasional chewing ( not destroying anything). I have been
kennel traing him during the day and it is working well.
Charlie has good teeth and gums so at this point he does
not seem to have any health problems.
Charlie is 11 months old and i believe once he has a
permanent home it will not be hard to reverse and alter
his skittish nature. He is very loving and just loves to
be curled up in bed with you, he is a great companion and
would never bite anybody.
My email address is

daily.

MINNIE |
|
 |
 |
|
Minnie (Daphne) is an 11 year old (unsure of exact age)
Chihuahua. She has had an interesting and mysterious
life. We adopted her 3 ½ years ago from our local Humane
Society. She was rescued, along with many other small
breeds from a puppy mill. Minnie was one of the breeding
females. We were told that she possibly has lived her
entire life (years unknown) in a crate and used for
breeding. She was extremely fearful and was not
housebroken. Due to her circumstances, she never learned
to play, climb stairs, or interact with people. We
assume she was never fed appropriate food either. Her
teeth need to be cleaned yearly (under anesthesia) due
to the plaque build-up.
During Minnie’s time with us, she has found herself. She
is a very loving dog who requires a lot of attention.
She loves to be near her “mom” on the couch, but needs
to be picked up and put down off of furniture. She is
unable to jump up or off of any furniture. She also has
found her bark (luckily, she only barks when we come
home or people come to visit). Minnie has also learned
to “play.” She doesn’t chase toys or put them in her
mouth, but she will run around and crouch down as if she
was having a good time. She also enjoys playing with
other dogs as long as they are not too rough. Minnie
loves to go for short walks.
The only challenges with Minnie are her random
“accidents” on our floors and having to pick her up to
bring her from place to place in the house (usually from
floor to floor). Minnie still tends to pee on our
carpets, particularly when left alone, either we have
left the house or left the floor she is on. She tends to
leave a spot approximately two times a month. Luckily
she is a small dog! Also, Minnie still crouches down, as
if you were going to hurt her when you go to pick her
up. It’s something that she will always do (sometimes
she will even go under tables, etc. to avoid being
picked up, even though she knows no one will hurt her).
We attribute this to her history. Minnie will also beg
for your food. This is our fault! Her “mom” will feed
her from the table. Her tummy is sensitive however, so
she doesn’t get much.
Overall, Minnie needs a home where she is given the
attention she needs. We are looking for an individual or
couple (preferably no young children, she is very
skittish), retired or part-time who would like a
constant companion. She IS NOT the Chihuahua who likes
to be put in small bags or cute clothes and taken to
public places. She prefers the safety of home. She has
had access to a backyard to roam free and likes to
explore. However, she is fine with walks. Please
understand that Minnie will take time to adjust and does
not want to endure too many transitions. Be advised, she
is an older dog who may require some medical care in the
near future, therefore there will be an expense. We are
looking for potential adopters that live in the Eastern
NY/Western MA area.

MR. MAGOO |
|
 |
 |
Mr. Magoo is a neutered male, approximately 6-7 year old
Chihuahua. At about 4 lbs, he is truly a "go anywhere"
dog and absolutely adorable. Magoo gets along great with
the small dogs in his foster home but likes to keep his
distance from the bigger ones. Overall though he gets
around great and can assert himself when necessary.
Magoo enjoys going for daily walks and also enjoys trips
to the dog park, provided there is a small dog only
area. He bonds very quickly and very strongly. Whenever
his foster mom leaves the house he will wait right by
the door until she gets back. Magoo is housebroken,
kennels easily and is very good natured around people.
He loves to be held, and will perch himself on your arm
if given the chance. Magoo would do best in a home
without small children or large dogs and would prefer an
easy-going household with another small dog as a
companion. Not sure how he is around cats yet. He is
neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped.
Fostered in Davis. If interested, please contact Audrey
at
lesfillesdecadix@yahoo.com or call 530-574-6087.

John Doe |
|
 |
 |
Short series of events: I
found this little guy walking right out into traffic on a
major road and convinced him to jump straight into my car.
He immediately bonded and was happy to be in the car. He’s
been with me almost a week and I’d keep him except that I
have three large dogs (over 80 pounds) and one very big
cat who hunts and comes and goes. My family was already
full and his presence, although welcome because it saved
his life, is undoubtedly a strain on our little family.
Who he appears to be: He is a neutered male. He’s in good
shape and appears to be about four. I haven’t had the vet
check his teeth yet, but I’m going to give him a full
physical and workup next week (shots, worms, tests, etc).
He doesn’t have fleas at all, and appears to be well
groomed, trimmed and well-fed. So I think he got away from
someone or was tossed on the side of the road by someone
who just didn’t want him anymore. I’ve put up “Dog Found”
posters everywhere and included the vet clinics in the
area and no one has responded yet. So now, I think it’s
time for him to find a good forever home with some loving
nice people.
I have nothing bad to say about this dog at all. He gets
along fine with my cat and all of the other dogs. I can
truly attest to this, because ALL three of my dogs AND my
cat sleep in bed with me every night. And they still do
EVEN with this little dog here. He sleeps through the
night all night right next to me and he’ s just happy to
be alive and fed. He hasn’t barked or yipped once since
I’ve had him here and he doesn’t seem to be a yippy little
dog at all. He’s very meek, quiet, and just happy to be
alive. He doesn’t chew on things or drag things around or
outside. He is quite well housebroken and lets himself out
through the doggy door to go potty. He doesn’t grab things
out of your hand or from the other dogs, so he’s quite
easy to be around.
This dog is about the size of a sack of potatoes and
weighs about as much. He would be perfect in an apartment
or city dwelling and is an EXTREMELY low maintenance dog.
He probably doesn’t need more than a doggy litter box and
a few chew toys. He’d be perfect for a child, a regular
family, or an older person who can’t walk a lot. He needs
so little other than a toy, food, water, and love.
Won’t someone out there help me find this baby a loving
forever home? All I ask is what I always ask of you. Pass
this email around! Let’s get him in the adoption/rescue
network and hopefully the right person will want him.
Thank you and God bless you for taking the time to help us
out on this.

RUSTY |

 |
 |
|
 |
|
I am Rusty, a 9 lb.
male Chihuahua born 6/2/2003, neutered 4/1/2004 with
vaccinations current through 4/2008. I'm house trained,
crate trained and have a congenial, passive
personality. I am very loyal and protective of my
master. If you put my bed on the car seat and open the
car door, I will jump into my bed and remain there until
we reach our destination; I am a great traveler. My
preference is to live inside and be the only pet in the
family because I am jealous and want individual love,
affection, and attention from my master. Mature people
would love me as a lap dog in their home, but I also
love children and would never bite. IF I had a behavior
problem, it would be standing straight up and begging
for a bite of food when my master is eating.
My current human mama is a senior citizen
with health problems who cares for her 90-year old
in-laws and her 38 year old disabled son along
with their two dogs. Her responsibilities have become
overwhelming, so with tears and great reluctance she is
having to make changes in order to meet those
responsibilities. It seems that I, little Rusty, have
drawn the "short straw" and must be relocated. I am a
wonderful loving little guy who will make a wonderful
pet in a caring home. Contact

JOSE |

Jose is an approx. 7
year old chihuahua, up to date on shots, neutered and
heartworm negative. He was rescued from a shelter as a
special needs dog as he has a grade 3 (out of 6) heart
murmur. He is well mannered and is looking for a new,
permanent home.
Jose is NOT a CRT dog. You may inquire
about him directly by emailing his foster mom at:

LUCKY |
 |
 |
We
stumbled across this little lover in the
middle of busy intersection in Hollywood
about a month ago! Unfortunately, our
living circumstances do not allow for us
to keep him, so we are determined to
find him the perfect forever home.
We are guessing Lucky is about one year
old, some kind of Pomeranian/Chihuahua
mix, and weighs about ten pounds. We
took him to
the vet and got him fixed and up to date
on shots, and he's in overall good
health. He's an energetic puppy who
needs lots of attention and supervision,
he's great with kids and other dogs and
cats, and his very favorite thing to do
is cuddle up with you while you are
watching TV or on the computer.
Lucky has made so many friends during
his stay at our home. Everyone who meets
him falls in love with him! Our trainer
loves him so much that she is offering
to work with Lucky free of charge when
he finds his new forever home. He will
get two free training sessions in your
home and one group obedience training.
This is very important, as Lucky has a
little bit of anxiety being left home
alone, and this will help him overcome
it. The perfect home would be with one
person or a family that could give him
LOTS of attention, possibly someone that
works from home or can bring him along.
He would also make a great companion dog
to your one-dog home.
Our landlord recently discovered that we
brought in another dog and wants him
gone as soon as possible. His time with
us is limited, and we want to find him a
home ourselves instead of placing him
with a shelter or rescue organization.
Please call for more details, or to set
up a time to meet him!

TISHIA |
 |
 |
This is
Tishia
She's 10 yrs old old and weighs about 12
pounds. She is shy at first, but quickly
warms up to women, is particular about
which men and has been good with older
children patting her. She does not like
cats or big dogs, but would love to get
to know another Chihuahua.
She would do best in a female-only home.
She doesn't like having lots of people
coming and going, so a quiet home would
be best. She has a lot of love to give,
when your willing to meet her more than
half way.
She is housebroken, and she definitely
needs to be on a diet
Please call for more details, or to set
up a time to meet him!

THE TWO SISTERS
(Faith and Hope) |
|
 |
These two sweethearts didn't come with names, so we're
waiting until they tell us their perfect names!
Faith and Hope has been suggested - what do you think? These two-year-old sisters would LOVE to stay
together, since they have been the only stability in
each other's lives. They have been passed around so
much, that they have not had the chance to see what a
loving, caring environment is. They are currently
living in a foster home, and are becoming more
affectionate every day.
They are both spayed, and current on all of their
shots. They are Heartworm negative, and are on
preventative. They weigh around 7 1/2 pounds. They
both are lap dogs, and one is already giving
kisses. They are both house-trained. They are looking
for an all adult home, that is experienced with
Chihuahuas.
Please let us know if you have room in your home, and heart, for these
two sweet girls. They are located in the
Houston, TX., area. You can get more info at
rabailey9@aol.com. Adoption fee for the pair is $158.00.

Will is about
seven years old. He is very shy and
doesn't have much hair left. He is on
medication for a low thyroid and for a
collapsing trachea. He also seems to
have some allergies. Other then that
he seems perfictly happy.
Grace is a quiet little chihuahua that
just likes to lay back and observe
whats going on. She is so sweet. She
seems to have had some trauma to her
back earlier in life because she can't
hold her bladder and doesn't walk
completely normal. She doesn't have
any problems getting around though and
she is good at wearing a diaper.

vaccinations, neutered and has been
started on heartworm preventative. Bo
has been working hard on becoming
housebroken and hardly ever has an

special to all of us at Friends Forever. He was
rescued from a pet store. He was a puppymill puppy.
Zipper is a 9 pound little loaf of
Chihuahua love. He was born

well with other dogs and is cat friendly. We are all
very attached to Zipper and have waited far too long

Zipper is neutered, current on his vaccinations and on
heartworm prevention. Zipper has also had his teeth
cleaned and is microchipped. We have had a complete

HARLEY AND RASCAL
|
|
 |
|
My husband and I rescued Harley (the black one) and Rascal (the
white one) about 6 years ago. At that time, the vet thought they
were about 1 year old, so that would make them about 7 years of
age. They weight about 6-7 lbs. Both are male Chihuahua mixes;
both dogs are neutered. They have a sweet disposition and are
great with our 3 year old. They have always been sweet with any
visitors that we have had in our home. They don't mind little
dogs, but do not care for large dogs. Rascal was attacked by a
German Shepard years ago and has not liked big dogs since. I
would like to find someone who would want to take them both.
Since they have always been together, I'm not sure how well they
would do without each other. We are having to find new homes for
them because our son is allergic.
Harley & Rascal are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. If you are
interested in adopting these two buddies, please email
csroybal@yahoo.com.

REN
|
|
 |
|
He is neutered, de-fleaed, and had his teeth cleaned. Vet estimates his age at 3 years. Ren gets along with cats and tolerates other dogs but does have food aggression issues. He may also need some work with housetraining. Ren loves being on laps and also likes to actively run around the house. Currently he is being fostered in Liberty, IN and we will transport him within about a 90 mile radius (we are between Indianapolis and Cincinnati). We believe he needs a home with caregivers who know about
Chihuahuas.

MELI MAE
|
|
 |
|
Meli Mae is a
15 to an 18lb female Chihuahua mix. We think she is mixed with
a Corgi since she's got a longer body
and her 2 front feet very sweetly point a bit outward. Her 1
year birthday is July 8th. She always looks worried and in deep
thought about something. Her facial expressions are just as sweet as
she is. She is great with children, loves to snuggle and really likes
a good belly rub. She's on a bit of weight management (aren't we
all), but I think with the right exercise she'll slim down in no
time. She loves to play fetch and
has the most unconditional love to give!! Meli loves walks and is the
best protector. She's never harmed a fly but has a pretty fierce "I
want you to hear me" kind of bark!! My daughter and I are simply not
home enough and do not have the proper space for her to play and enjoy
life. She is spayed and has a microchip. If you are
interested in giving Meli Mae a forever home,
contact Christine Norris at
cnorris@proalt.com
We are happy to send more photos,
arrange a meeting, and answer any questions if needed!! Thanks so
much!! |
PACO
|
 |
Paco is a smooth-coated male chihuahua. He is chocolate and tan in
color, weighs eight pounds, and is believed to be three years old. Not
much is known about where he has been, but he has most likely not had a
very good life. Until recently, he was living in a house with several
other people and animals in a house with no electricity. He was not
well-cared for, nor was he getting along in what must have been a
chaotic environment. The person who owned him decided to give him up.
When he came to his foster home, he was full of fleas and smelled like
an ashtray. He had to get cleaned up—he doesn’t like baths. Then he
had to learn to get along with four dachshunds. His foster home is very
structured, so Paco learned that he could count on being fed, clean, and
safe. This made him feel much better.
Paco is very sweet and loving. Even though he gets along with the other
dogs in his foster home, he really doesn’t want to play with them. He
wants to play with his foster parents all the time. He likes to
roughhouse and play with bouncy toys. He is good on a leash and likes
to go for walks. He enjoys going for rides in the car and is very
well-behaved in the car. He does not like big dogs and is aggressive
toward them. He has also shown aggression toward cats. He is initially
suspicious of strangers, but once he gets to know people, he is very
friendly.
He
is crate trained and will sleep in the crate, although he prefers to
sleep in the big bed with his people. He would make a good companion
for an active adult. If
you are interested in adopting Paco and live in the Western NY, PA or in
OH, contact his foster home at doxberry@alltel.net |
