Put A Little Love In Your Life - Adopt A
Chihuahua
PICO

Pico is a little 3 year old long-coat
male with diabetes. He's not on available for adoption yet since he
was just rescued earlier this month. His owner didn't want to deal
with giving him insulin, so he was dumped at the pound and was close
to death when rescued by our NC coordinator. He spent several days
at the emergency vet clinic, which wound up costing around $2,000.
He's doing much better now, but they're still working on determining
the correct dosage of insulin and getting him totally stabilized.
He's also having some behavioral problems, which his foster mom
thinks is either a result of abuse or from his system being whacked
out from going so long without insulin. He's safe now and getting
the medical treatment he needs, and since he's so young and cute, we
expect he'll be adopted even with the diabetes; it'll just take a
little longer to find the right forever home for him.
Thanks!
In the meantime, a big thanks to his Best Friends! Please
