Meet Miranda. We believe Miranda is a chihuahua/dachshund mix. She is super sweet and looking for a forever home.
CRT was contacted in September, 2017 by the SPCA and asked to take 16 chihuahuas and chi mixes involved in a seizure case. With all the Hurricane Harvey dogs they were housing, time was of the essence in getting these dogs out. They had been living outside in deplorable, filthy conditions without the basics: no shelter, no food, no water. CRT was asked to make room for all 16 dogs plus the 5 puppies that had been born the night before.
Miranda was one of those unfortunate dogs. We are excited to report that she has adapted quickly and seems content to know she is safe and will soon find a forever family to love.
Miranda gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home. She also loves people. Miranda is fully house trained, however she prefers to be walked. She is crate trained. She is afraid of storms and looks for a safe place to hide when there is a heavy rain and thunder. Not much of a surprise considering the conditions she lived in and the hurricane she survived.
Miranda is super sweet and will do well in a family. She has a quiet personality that will fit easily in your home. If you have a lap, she will be in it. She is on the thin side and could gain a pound or two. Miranda has a beautiful reddish and white coat. Her ears are so cute. They stick out to the side when she is happy.
