Dear (insert name)

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our Chihuahuas. I will attach an application for adoption with this message. What I suggest that you do is to fill out this application for adoption and forward it to our regional coordinator at the following e-mail address:  [insert coordinator's email address] .

Then go to the CRT website at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.org . On that page, click on "Dogs Available for Adoption". There is a drop down box on that page where you choose the region of the country that you live in. It will take you to a list with pictures of all the dogs available for adoption that area. As you look over the list, you will see that each description describes the dog's temperament with children and other dogs. This will certainly be a factor if you have other pets and/or children. Also the description states where CRT would like to place a dog as far as "state". Sometimes this is done in the interest of the animal (maybe it doesn't travel well) but other times it is because it will be difficult to arrange a long distance transport. In the latter case, sometimes we can work something out. If you don't see anything there that interests you, go ahead and fill out an application. That way the preliminary paperwork will be completed when you do find one that suits you.

There is a lot of information on the website that you will find interesting. Take your time and look it over.

It may seem to you that we have a lot of guidelines for adoption, but keep in mind that the majority of these dogs have had a very rough life up until we rescued them. For this reason we tend to be very careful to whom we adopt. If you have any questions please contact me at this address or at my home address: (insert e-mail address here)

Thank you for considering adopting one of our rescued Chihuahuas,
