Meet Rocky!
Rocky is a 4 year old (estimated birth Apr 2019), 8 pound long-haired male chihuahua who was surrendered to CRT by his previous family as Rocky was struggling to adjust to a young child being in the home. Rocky is the typical chihuahua and when he finds his person, he follows him/her everywhere, loves to give kisses, and is just the happiest he can be. Once he loves you, you will be the center of his world. Be prepared to be absolutely adored!
Rocky is great with small dogs. He is pee pad trained and leash trained. He does not do great with children so he is required to go to a home without small children. Rocky does still mark sometimes, but his foster mother notes that that has diminished the longer he’s been in her home.
Rocky does need some time to adjust to a new home. When he first got to his current foster home, he growled any time his foster mother tried to brush him, put him in a crate, or generally do anything that Rocky didn’t want to do. After being in his foster home for a few days, though, he decided he liked his foster mother and now she can’t do anything at home without him! He can and will be snippy if you try to force him to do something he doesn’t want to, but if you give him time and do not crowd him, he will come around in due time! Due to this we are recommending that Rocky specifically go to a home with chihuahua experience as he does take time to warm up and he’s also not a huge fan of visitors. If you get a lot of traffic through your home, Rocky may not be the boy for you, he’s very protective of his family and home.
Medically, Rocky has a history of seizures and takes daily anti-seizure medication to prevent them. The seizures do not last long and happen maybe once a month, but do need to be monitored.
Rocky is neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, and on HW preventative.
His adoption donation is $300.00.
