NAME: Molly
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 5 years old
WEIGHT: 14 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Best as an only dog. Unknown with cats.
CHILDREN: Ok with mature children (10 and older).
Meet Molly, the mother of the eight puppies which were born on January 14th. Molly did a great job as a mom. Her vet work is complete, and she is now ready to find her forever home! We are taking applications now.
Molly adores her foster family! She is cautious at first meeting and needs a little time to get to know and trust new people. Once she knows you, she will LOVE you forever! When her foster family’s college student comes home for a visit, Molly recognizes her right away and gets so excited to get cuddles and give kisses! Molly LOVES to be with her people and craves their affection and attention. She will lie down near her people and nap on the floor at their feet or in a dog bed nearby while they work.
We think Molly will do well with older, mature children (10 and older). Molly gets so excited when her people come home that she jumps for joy! She could accidentally knock down a small child. Molly sometimes nips at the back of her favorite people’s legs when they arrive home because she wants them to know that she is so happy to see them. No one has been hurt, and Molly has been doing it less frequently.
We believe Molly would do well as the only dog in the home so she could get all the love and attention! Molly got jealous of attention and food with another dog in her foster home. She has never caused an injury in CRT in foster care, but it scares the other Chihuahuas in the home. Molly happily plays with herself!
Molly has a playful personality. Since her mothering duties have come to an end, she has discovered that she loves toys of all kinds! She plays ball with herself by tossing it in the air and then chasing it! She scatters her toys around the house and the backyard. She has discovered that the game of “Fetch” is her favorite activity! She will bring the ball back to a person and drop it so she can fetch it all over again! Her foster family learned that they need to put their shoes away in the closet, otherwise they will find that Molly has gathered the shoes into her toybox. Molly loves and needs chew toys/bones. When Molly tires from playing, she loves to be a lap dog! She loves human attention most of all! When she settles down on your lap to relax, you’ll never find a dog who gazes more adoringly at you than Molly!
Molly alerts to noises and when she hears other dogs barking. For this reason, we do not think she would do well living in an apartment. She loves being outside! When she has the freedom of a doggie door, she comes in and out but spends plenty of time outside in the sun!
Molly is 100% house-trained!!! Molly is smart! She quickly figured out how to use the doggy door and uses it independently for all her potty needs in the backyard. She quickly learned to sit on command and wait patiently for treats.
Molly LOVES to take walks wearing her harness and leash. She sometimes pulls on the leash and can be vocal when she sees other dogs. Molly’s curiosity and enthusiasm on her walk will keep you smiling!
Molly sleeps quietly all night in a dog bed or on a soft blanket on the couch. She loves to take a Sunday afternoon nap with her foster Mom on the couch, snuggled right up against Mom’s chest! Molly is also crate-trained!! She will stay quietly in her wire crate when her foster family leaves home or if, for example, they need to prop an outside door open.
Our vet believes Molly is about 5 years old. She weighs 14 pounds. Molly has a thick, beautiful, sable-colored coat and the cutest, semi-pricked ears. Her beautiful, brown eyes will melt your heart!
