Introducing Gidget. This sweet gal wants a laid back, loving home to call her own. We think you will be smitten with her!

Gidget was found as a stray in Dallas TX.  Gidget showed up in early January on the doorstep of one of our CRT supporters. She did not have a collar or a microchip. The weather was so cold, and her little eyes were pleading for help. Our CRT volunteers brought her into their home and kept her warm and safe as we searched for her family. Sadly no family stepped forward to claim her. We were happy to put her into our program. Gidget is such a wonderful dog. We are on the hunt to find Gidget a great forever home, and know there are people out there who share our love for these sweet souls.

Gidget gets along with the other dogs in her foster home. There are small, medium and large dogs in her foster home and she fits nicely into the pack. Gidget loves to play. She will play with her buddies all day long, and really enjoys hanging around them. She also loves napping throughout the day. She has discovered balls and will pick them up and run with them. She also loves running through the backyard. It is fun to watch her!

Gidget wants to be loved so much. Gidget takes some time to warm up to strangers. Once she gets comfortable, she is the sweetest girl. As Gidget came into our program, Gidget decided that her foster Mom was amazing! She was a little more cautious around her foster Dad, but soon decided that he was a great guy too! Gidget loves snuggling. She will sit in your lap and let you pet her for hours! Gidget follows her foster family everywhere, and is super attentive in the kitchen as meals are being prepared as Gidget loves food – LOL. Note that Gidget can be a tripping hazard as she is constantly around your feet. We are looking for a patient family to adopt her – one that will give her her time to build confidence and to get comfortable in her new surroundings.

Gidget is super easy to love. She has a funny personality that will melt your heart. She has the cutest head tilt as she looks at you as if to say “tell me again how adorable I am” – LOL. She loves it when her family comes home. Even if you have only been gone for 10 minutes she will run to the door to greet you with a wagging tail – she is so excited you are back home! If you want to feel like the most loved person in the world – Gidget will make you feel adored every day. Once she gets comfortable with you, Gidget will come to you for attention. She will melt into your arms when you are holding her and snuggling with her.

Our vet believes Gidget is about 2 years old. She weighs a perfect 8 pounds. Gidget has a beautiful apricot tan medium length coat with white highlights. She is a Chihuahua mix and we believe she is a Chihuahua / Yorkie mix. We love her brown button nose and her cute ears. And her soulful eyes just melt us.

Gidget is potty trained and does well if kept on a routine. At night, she sleeps in her doggie bed. She also enjoys sleeping in bed with her family. Gidget is great on a harness and leash and enjoys daily walks. She loves trotting around the neighborhood, smelling new smells and exploring new areas. We are looking for a forever family that will continue to walk with Gidget each day as she will enjoy that activity.

Gidget has a mellow personality. We are requesting an all adult home for her forever home. Gidget is a little shy in new situations, but adjusts well. She will just need someone to understand that and help her to feel comfortable as she settles in to your home.

The ideal home for Gidget would be a home with moderate activity. Gidget would do well with another dog in her family or would also be a great only dog as long as her family was around to pay a lot of attention to her. Gidget will need time to adjust to her new home and we are looking for someone who is home most of the time. She would love to live with a retired family as she loves her people and wants to spend 24 hours a day with them! She is very loyal and loving. Gidget has lived through a lot and has the sweetest soul. It’s her time to be showered with affection. If you have a deep love for 4 legged family members, Gidget wants to be your girl!

Gidget is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Gidget is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?
