Meet one of the newest CRT puppies – Terra! This little cutie is brave and loves adventure. She is affectionate and will easily win your heart with her charm and sweet nature!
This little girl’s elderly owner was breeding Chihuahuas and unfortunately passed away. The family found four Chihuahua puppies left behind in the home and reached out to a local rescue, One by One Pet Rescue, for help. One by One Pet Rescue stepped up for two of the puppies and asked CRT to help with the other two. We are happy to help. We enjoy working with other local rescues to help save Chihuahuas, and we are grateful for everything they do in the community.
Terra is a fun and playful puppy! She loves the other small dogs in her foster home. Terra loves to run and tumble with her siblings. She also loves to race with them in the house. And she loves to explore everything in life. Terra LOVES toys. Her favorites are squeaky toys and the crinkly toys. She is so good natured and fun!
Terra adores her family. She is very friendly. We think she is one of the sweetest puppies we have had. She loves to cuddle and she will snuggle with you for hours. If you enjoy relaxing TV time at night, Terra wants to climb up into your lap and cuddle! She loves to be up against you, sharing your love. Terra sticks close to you and will follow you from room to room. Note that she can be a tripping hazard. She is also super fast, so her family will want to ensure there is a safe barrier at the front door so she does not dash out and begin to explore the neighborhood!
Terra is about 8 months old. She is about 7 pounds and is fully grown. Terra has a beautiful light tan coat with white highlights. She has a wiry coat. We love her ears. We think she is a Chihuahua / Terrier mix (maybe yorkie?). No matter what she is, she is 100% adorable.
The ideal home for Terra would be one with high energy. She would love to have another young dog (maybe 1-3 years) to play with. Because of her love of family and attention, she would love to live with a work-from-home family. She needs a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). She is fairly quiet, but she also has high energy. There are no children in her foster home but we think she would do fine with mature children 10 and older.
Terra is very smart. She is a puppy and is learning every day. Terra has done well on her potty training. She has learned to go potty outside and also will use the PeePee pads in her foster home. At night, Terra sleeps in a doggie bed inside of an ex-pen or crate. She wants you to know she would love to cuddle with you in bed at night if you would let her! Due to the cold weather, we have not begun to work with her on a leash and harness. But this is on our list as soon as it gets warmer.
